What Farmasfera does

Medicine information comes from official sources of the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS). Farmasfera organises it and brings it closer to you, without interpreting its clinical content.

Scan the box

Point at the code on the box and Farmasfera identifies the medicine, the batch and the expiry date. If it can't read it, you can also search for the medicine by its national code or by name.

We tell you what matters

Batch recalls, expiry dates, supply problems and safety alerts. If one of your medicines is affected, we alert you on your phone even if Farmasfera is closed.

The leaflet, at hand

The official patient leaflet, inside Farmasfera, organised by sections and in large type. No more hunting for the crumpled paper in the drawer.

In Spain and when you travel

Check the active substance and its international nonproprietary name (INN), useful to identify your medication when you are outside Spain. And take a printable sheet of your medicines with you.

Pharmacies near you

Find pharmacies near you and open the route to get there in one tap.

How much to take on a trip

Enter how many days you will be away and Farmasfera works out, from the amount you have recorded, whether you have enough medication or how much is missing: tablets, sachets, pens, bottles and more.

Farmasfera does not replace your doctor or your pharmacist Farmasfera organises official information published by the AEMPS and alerts you to changes affecting the medicines you have saved. It does not diagnose, prescribe or interpret symptoms. In the event of a batch recall or a safety alert, always follow the AEMPS instructions and consult your pharmacy or a healthcare professional.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the information come from?

Medicine information comes from CIMA and from the AEMPS pharmaceutical alerts. Pharmacy locations come from OpenStreetMap. Farmasfera organises this information without altering its clinical content.

Do I have to scan all my medicines?

No. Save the ones you want watched. Everything you save is watched, on the free plan or on Pro.

What if the code on the box won't scan?

You can take a photo of it, type the national code printed under the barcode, or search for the medicine by name.

Does it work outside Spain?

The medicine database and the alerts are those published in Spain by the AEMPS. Even so, Farmasfera shows the active substance and its international nonproprietary name (INN), which can help you identify your medication in another country. The app is available in Spanish, English, French and German.

Does it replace my doctor or pharmacist?

No. Farmasfera is an informational tool for organising your medicine cabinet. It does not diagnose, prescribe, interpret symptoms or decide treatments. For any decision about your medication, consult a healthcare professional.

Can I use it on an iPhone?

Yes, from the browser. To receive alerts on screen you must first add it to the home screen.

Start with one box

Scan your first medicine and let the app watch over it.
